Job Summary
We are looking for an individual to join our client’s team as Rehabilitation Aide. You will support physical and occupational therapists by preparing treatment equipment, assisting with patient positioning and mobility, transporting patients to and from therapy areas, and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized rehabilitation environment.
Job Description
- Assists in preparation of equipment, i.e. hydrotherapy tanks, paraffin baths and hot packs, in an appropriate manner as directed by the therapist.
- Assists therapist as directed, including positioning patients, in, at or on equipment, devices or treatment tables.
- Assists therapist in the adjustment of canes, wheelchairs or other assistive devices.
- Escorts patients to and from treatment or activity areas.
- Maintains work area in a safe, clean manner.
- Obtains equipment, materials and supplies from storage areas and positions them appropriately for use.
- Maintain equipment/cleaning logs
- Adheres to hospital infection control procedures.
- Manages equipment inventory.
- All other duties as required by the dept.
Skills Required
- One year of satisfactory experience in providing nursing support services and/or medical support services in a hospital, health care or medical facility
- Satisfactory completion of a training program appropriate for level of the prescribed duties
- Basic computer skills and ability to document patient activities
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to establish successful working interpersonal relationships with patients and coworkers
- Familiarity with procedures used in applying physical, occupational and speech therapy equipment.
- Good manual dexterity.
- Ability to effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
- Sitting, walking, standing, lifting (up to 50lbs) carrying, typing, pushing and /or pulling, stooping and /or crouching.
Education/Training/Certifications
- Completed High School (Diploma or GED)
- Preferred: CPR certification
Additional Requirements
- Tour: Tuesday to Saturday 8-4:30pm
