See What You Can Do!
The Rehabilitation Center for the Blind is seeking a compassionate, creative, and motivated individual to join our team as the Communications and Braille Instructor. In this role, you will work directly with individuals experiencing vision loss, helping them learn new strategies to complete everyday tasks and build confidence in their independence.
You will provide instruction in essential life skills such as communication, personal finance, and daily living activities. A key part of this role includes teaching Braille to individuals who choose to learn it. Each individual we serve has unique goals, and your role is to help them achieve those goals by tailoring instruction to their personal needs and learning style. This often involves breaking tasks into manageable steps and finding creative, effective ways to teach new skills.
The ideal candidate is patient, professional, and passionate about empowering individuals with visual impairments. Strong teaching or instructional experience is highly beneficial, especially the ability to adapt lessons and approaches to meet different learning styles. No prior Braille experience is required to apply for this position, as long as you have a willingness to learn.
If you are someone who enjoys making a meaningful impact, values creativity in teaching, and is committed to helping others reach their full potential, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to do just that.
