The Rehab Services Quality and Regulatory Coordinator is responsible for overseeing quality and regulatory initiatives for therapy services at Muma Children's Hospital. This includes collecting and analyzing data to support the patient care team in achieving the highest quality outcomes. The position also involves presenting outcome data to various departments within the Rehabilitation Division and Muma Children's Hospital. The role ensures all rehabilitation service areas meet the standards of the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), the Joint Commission (TJC), and other relevant state, local, and federal agencies. All duties are to be performed in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient in MS Office, EMR, and EPIC

  • Familiarity with workbench reports and dashboard systems, such as Qlik, etc.

  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively and positively with a wide variety of internal and external customers (patients, their significant others, staff, students, visitors etc.) and treat them with courtesy, respect and dignity.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify quality improvement issues via review of evidence-based literature, participation with, and takes appropriate action leading to resolution.

  • Maintains the UDS database for all pediatric rehab program patients. Conducts the uploading and downloading of data between MedTel and UDS to assure accurate reporting within the required timelines.

  • Oversee ad manage initiatives aimed at enhancing program outcomes and adherence to department wide Quality Improvements initiatives and CARF program standards.

  • Assists with regulatory monitoring and related action planning to ensure maintenance of a safe environment for patients, staff, and families.

  • Acts as Chair of Rehab Quality Committee with responsibilities to include, but not limited to: setting agenda per reporting schedule, managing team invites, presenting updates on quality initiatives, taking and distributing meeting minutes.
