Overview: The Relationship Manager I is responsible for developing and managing customer relationships while growing and maintaining a loan portfolio. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, supporting market growth, and delivering tailored financial solutions that meet customer needs. The position also includes recommending or approving loans within delegated authority and ensuring compliance with Association policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities: • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by understanding financial needs and delivering tailored solutions • Develop referral strategies and pursue new business opportunities to grow the loan portfolio • Manage the full loan process, including gathering documentation, structuring agreements, and ensuring proper underwriting • Analyze financial information and make sound credit decisions within delegated authority • Recommend loans for approval beyond authority limits in accordance with guidelines • Monitor and manage loan portfolio performance, including covenants, exceptions, and past-due accounts • Resolve client concerns and provide ongoing service to support long-term relationships • Collaborate with internal teams and participate in business development activities and presentations • Ensure compliance with Association policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) • 1-3 years of experience in commercial or mortgage lending, including credit analysis and risk assessment • Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and lending practices • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
