Position Summary
The Release Management Coordinator supports release planning, deployment coordination, governance activities, release communications, change request administration, and cross-functional scheduling. This role enables Release Management team members to focus on strategic planning, risk mitigation, and production stability initiatives.
Position Overview
The Release Management Coordinator assists in the planning, coordination, governance, and execution of software releases across multiple technology teams. Responsibilities include maintaining release schedules and calendars, coordinating deployment activities, monitoring release readiness, supporting change management processes, facilitating stakeholder communications, and ensuring all required documentation, approvals, and sign-offs are completed prior to production deployments.
This role also supports release reporting, deployment tracking, CAB preparation, environment refresh scheduling, post-release reviews, and continuous process improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and facilitate release readiness meetings.
- Track alignment between sprint deliverables and release schedules.
- Coordinate Change Request (CRQ) and Change Advisory Board (CAB) documentation.
- Follow up on approvals, testing sign-offs, and deployment readiness activities.
- Monitor release dependencies, risks, issues, and action items.
- Coordinate communications before, during, and after production releases.
- Track release metrics and prepare status reports for leadership.
- Support deployment scheduling and environment refresh activities.
- Document release outcomes, lessons learned, and process improvements.
- Coordinate handoffs between project teams and production support teams.
- Maintain release governance documentation and audit records.
Required Qualifications
- Experience coordinating IT projects, software releases, deployments, or change management activities.
- Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.
- Experience managing schedules, action items, and cross-functional coordination efforts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Teams, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience working within structured technical, operational, or enterprise environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Jira, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, or similar project management and release management tools.
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Familiarity with release management, change management, deployment, or production support processes.
