Job Description:

  • The Reliability Engineer is primarily responsible for plant reliability measurement and improvement and the mechanical integrity program.
  • Additional responsibilities include assisting the maintenance manager with maintenance systems and turn-around planning responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
  • Provides input to a risk management plan that will anticipate reliability-related and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact plant operations.
  • Develop solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost, or regulatory compliance issues. To fulfill this responsibility, the reliability engineer applies:
  • Data analysis techniques that can include:
  • Statistical process control
  • Reliability modeling and prediction
  • Fault tree analysis
  • Weibull analysis
  • Six Sigma methodology
  • Root cause analysis (RCA) and root cause failure analysis (RCFA)
  • Failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action system (FRACAS)
  • Works with Production to perform analyses of assets including:
  • Asset utilization
  • Overall equipment effectiveness
  • Remaining useful life
  • Other parameters that define operating condition, reliability, and costs of assets
  • Provides direction and leadership to the Maintenance Technicians, Including performance management, goals, succession planning, career development, coaching, mentoring, and routine performance reviews. They are also responsible for determining the repair scope of work for the plant equipment as well as the execution tactics that will be employed.
  • Provides technical support for production, maintenance management and technical personnel.
  • Applies value analysis to repair/replace, repair/redesign and make/buy decisions.
  • Professionally and systematically defines, designs, develops, monitors, and refines an asset maintenance plan that includes:
  • Value-added preventive maintenance tasks
  • Effective utilization of predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems.
  • Ensuring that machinery, systems, infrastructure, and equipment run optimally with minimal downtime.
  • Conducting and overseeing maintenance process audits
  • Diagnosing faults
  • Undertaking planned maintenance
  • Establishing different maintenance procedures and protocols
  • Training staff in equipment operating and maintenance procedures.
  • Responding to major equipment breakdowns
  • Forecasting and strategic planning for system overhauls and upgrades, while
  • considering long-term maintenance costs
  • Supervising other engineering and technical staff
  • Procuring, testing, and commissioning specialist components, fixtures, or fittings
  • Working with the maintenance manager and other executives to manage budgets.
  • Setting and tracking maintenance KPIs
  • Playing an active role in helping the organization set up and execute preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, or any other preferred maintenance program
  • Support and promote all Safety policies and procedures.
  • Work with the Production Scheduler to set up equipment repair times.
  • Work with Production Shift Leader daily on equipment problems/issues.
  • Manage the maintenance reliability system related to automated production equipment.
  • Monitor and investigate electrical and mechanical system performance and devise corrective measures.
  • Analyze system data and provide technical reports and recommendations.
Requirements:
  • Must have 3-8 years of related experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and clients.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.
  • Ability to analyze engineering drawings and prepare them when applicable.
  • Understanding multiple disciplines such as civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, piping, geotechnical and surveying is a plus point.
  • MS Excel, MS Project, and AutoCAD/SolidWorks experience preferred.
  • CMMS experience is a must.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
