The Opportunity
A growing manufacturing facility in Morristown, Tennessee is looking for a Reliability Engineer to build and lead their reliability program from the ground up. This is a hands-on role with direct ownership over equipment performance, failure elimination, and maintenance strategy across the entire plant. Your work will have a measurable impact on production capacity, product quality, and operating costs.
Why You'll Love This Role
- Lead and shape a reliability program with real organizational visibility
- Direct impact on plant efficiency and equipment performance
- Collaborative, team-oriented environment where you'll work alongside mechanics and operators — not just behind a desk
Your Day-to-Day
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve the plant-wide reliability program — covering equipment, utilities, controls, and safety systems
- Partner with Maintenance, Production, and Engineering teams to ensure new and modified equipment meets reliability and maintainability standards
- Design and refine maintenance strategies, including preventive maintenance tasks and predictive/non-destructive testing methodologies
- Investigate repetitive equipment failures and drive sustainable solutions that protect production output, quality, and compliance
- Provide hands-on technical support during both routine and urgent equipment issues
- Build and deliver training programs that strengthen the Maintenance team's skills and capabilities
What We're Looking For
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial preferred)
- 2–4 years of experience in a Reliability Engineering or Reliability Specialist role
- Prior experience in a maintenance role — Manager, Supervisor, or Technician — strongly preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to complex equipment and process challenges
- Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
- Clear communicator — written, verbal, and in front of a room
- Comfortable working in the field alongside mechanics and operators, including responding to critical equipment issues as needed
- Solid planning and organizational skills
