This initial research intake is designed to capture how accounting professionals actually work in practice — including day-to-day workflows, tools, decision points, specialist areas, and the less visible aspects of the profession that are often missed in conventional descriptions. Insights from the intake will help inform the structure and scope of future accounting-focused projects.

Ideal Profile

Practising or recently practising accountant

Professional experience in public accounting, audit, tax, corporate accounting, financial reporting, finance, or advisory

Strong understanding of real-world accounting workflows and professional decision-making

CPA, Chartered Accountant, or comparable professional accounting qualification is preferred

Experienced professionals without a formal accounting credential may also be considered where they demonstrate substantial domain expertise

Ability to describe technical workflows and professional judgement in clear written English

Comfortable providing detailed and specific responses about the mechanics of accounting work

- Typical compensation for subsequent accounting engagements: $70–$110/hour, depending on project scope and seniority
