Our clinical practice provides specialized psychiatric care to patients in long-term acute care hospitals and rehabilitation centers through telehealth services. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Appointment Coordinator to join our team and facilitate seamless telehealth consultations for patients needing psychiatric support.

Position Summary

The Provider Scheduler is responsible for coordinating provider schedules to support consistent coverage across assigned healthcare facilities and programs. This position works closely with clinical providers, independent contractors, and operational leadership to identify coverage needs, address scheduling gaps, and maintain appropriate provider coverage.

Essential Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain provider schedules across multiple facilities and service locations.
• Identify current and anticipated coverage needs and assist with securing appropriate provider coverage.
• Communicate with employed and contracted providers regarding scheduling needs, availability, and open coverage opportunities.
• Reach out to 1099/independent contractor providers to assist with filling open shifts and coverage gaps.
• Facilitate schedule changes, substitutions, and coverage adjustments as operational needs arise.
• Maintain accurate and current scheduling records.
• Communicate scheduling updates and potential coverage concerns to appropriate leadership.
• Develop and maintain professional working relationships with providers to support ongoing scheduling needs.
• Assist with coordinating provider availability for new or expanding locations.
• Work collaboratively with operations, credentialing, clinical leadership, and other departments as needed.
• Perform additional scheduling and administrative responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to communicate professionally with physicians, advanced practice providers, contractors, and leadership.
• Healthcare, medical staffing, scheduling, or provider coordination experience preferred.
• Comfortable working independently and responding to changing operational needs.
