    • Review customer contracts and identify distinct performance obligations
    • Assess transaction prices, variable consideration, constraints, and allocation methodologies

    Contract & Revenue Policy Review

    • Evaluate contract terms that may affect revenue recognition and financial reporting
    • Review revenue policies for technical accuracy, completeness, and consistency
    • Assess contract modifications, termination provisions, warranties, options, and customer incentives
    • Identify potential accounting issues involving collectability, enforceable rights, and contractual obligations

    Accounting Scenario Development & Evaluation

    • Create realistic accounting scenarios grounded in professional audit and advisory experience
    • Review proposed solutions and assess the quality of technical accounting conclusions
    • Identify unsupported assumptions, missed accounting issues, and incorrect interpretations of guidance
    • Explain conclusions clearly through structured technical analysis
    • Help establish high-quality reference materials for advanced accounting evaluations

    Financial Reporting & Documentation

    • Review financial statements and disclosures relating to revenue recognition
    • Prepare or evaluate technical accounting memoranda and supporting documentation
    • Assess principal-versus-agent considerations and gross-versus-net presentation
    • Analyse the consistency of accounting conclusions with applicable guidance and contractual facts
    • Communicate complex accounting judgments clearly to technical and non-technical audiences

    Ideal Profile

    Strong candidates may have:

    • Substantial professional experience in technical accounting, audit, accounting advisory, or financial reporting
    • Direct hands-on experience applying ASC 606 to complex customer arrangements
    • Experience reviewing contracts, revenue policies, financial statements, and technical accounting memoranda
    • Strong understanding of performance obligations, variable consideration, transaction-price allocation, and revenue timing
    • Experience within a leading accounting, audit, advisory, or professional-services organisation
    • Excellent analytical judgment and attention to technical detail
    • Strong written communication and the ability to explain accounting conclusions clearly
    • Current residence in the United Kingdom with the right to work in the UK
    • Availability to contribute up to 40 hours per week depending on project requirements

    Educational Background

    • A degree in accounting, finance, economics, business, or a related discipline is highly relevant
    • Professional accounting qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CA, CPA, or an equivalent credential are strongly preferred
    • Advanced training in technical accounting, financial reporting, or audit may be valuable
    • Equivalent senior-level experience in revenue recognition and accounting advisory may also be considered

    Nice to Have

    • Experience with complex or bundled customer contracts
    • Background in software, SaaS, technology, telecommunications, professional services, or subscription-based revenue models
    • Experience assessing contract modifications and variable consideration
    • Knowledge of principal-versus-agent analysis and gross-versus-net presentation
    • Familiarity with audit procedures involving complex revenue arrangements
    • Experience preparing technical accounting memos and supporting external-audit reviews
    • Understanding of differences between ASC 606 and IFRS 15
    • Previous involvement in structured accounting evaluation, technical-content development, or AI-related research projects

    Why This Opportunity

    • Apply advanced revenue-recognition expertise to specialised research and evaluation work
    • Analyse challenging accounting scenarios grounded in real-world customer contracts
    • Influence the quality of technical accounting materials used in frontier AI development
    • Work flexibly from anywhere in the United Kingdom
    • Participate in a highly compensated engagement with potential access to future specialist opportunities
