Pride Health is hiring a Drug Utilization Review Pharmacist for a well-known client! (REMOTE)
*Remote Opening: for the following states, AZ, TX, Indiana, New Hampshire, Florida, NY, Washington state
Schedule: 2 different night shift options (7pm-5am) OR (10pm-8am) Must support PST time zone.
Contract: 3 month contract
Pay Rate: 60-70/hr
Specific Duties:
- Maintain comprehensive customer profiles including current and past medical history, clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medications (including over-the-counter and home remedies)
- Evaluate physician medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and route of administration. Make recommendations for therapy changes to the prescriber as appropriate
- Operate and Troubleshoot Pharmacy Automation Systems
- Utilize, monitor, and troubleshoot automated dispensing and fulfillment systems to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely preparation of prescription orders
- Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and engineering teams to resolve automation issues, optimize workflows, and maintain compliance with quality and safety standards
- Dispense Controlled Substances and Maintain Regulatory Compliance
- Accurately dispense controlled substances in accordance with DEA regulations and state-specific laws
- Maintain thorough, timely, and auditable records of all controlled substance transactions, including inventory management, reconciliation, and reporting requirements
- Answer clinical questions and provide guidance
- Collaborate with healthcare team members
- Document all healthcare team communications
- Investigate and resolve medication errors
- Implement policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal laws
- Maintain required regulatory documentation
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Support pharmacy operations across departments as needed
Must have qualifications/experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacy License in state of employment (additional licenses may be required)
- Understanding of pharmacy laws and federal/state regulations
- Ability to manage high call volume while maintaining quality customer service
