Practice Resources, LLC is seeking an experienced Family Practice and/or Internal Medicine Coder to join our team. This is a fully remote position. Pay range for this position is $18.00-$30.00 per hour.
Job Description
Monitorandvalidatecharge captureusingCPT, HCPCS Level II,and ICD-10-CM codes.
Review medical documentation from physicians and other healthcareprovidersto assignappropriatemodifiers,diagnosis codes,and procedure codes for symptoms, diseases, injuries, surgeries,and treatmentsin accordance withofficialcoding guidelinesand standards.
Applycodingexpertisetosplit/sharedvisits, preventive services, transitional care management, chronic care management, behavioral healthservices,in-office procedures, and any other services that require coding.
Communicatecodingguidelines to physicians and other healthcare providers to improve the accuracyand completenessof medical record documentation.
Maintaina thorough understanding of National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) edits and relative value units asappropriate forthe role.
Understand and supportMedicare, Medicaid,andcommercial payerworkflows related to daily coding, denial reviews,appealsmanagement,andpreparation of supportingdocumentation for the appealsprocess.
Userelevant policies, procedures, andprofessionaljudgmenttodeterminewhether events or processescomplywithapplicablelaws, regulations,and standards.
Workindependently,manage multiple priorities,solve problems,and make informed,accuraterecommendations to medical professionals based on currentcoding guidance.
Participate in coding team meetings and serve as a subject matter expert.
Maintain productivity standards for assigned worktypes while upholdingcompany accuracyexpectations.

Qualifications
Certification through AAPC or AHIMAisrequired.
Minimumofthreeyears of coding experience in family practice and/or internal medicine.
Thoroughknowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
Thoroughunderstanding ofcodingresources, includingCPT, HCPCS Level II, and ICD-10-CM.
Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills.
