    Description

    We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for Irish tax professionals with deep expertise in Irish domestic taxation, technical tax research, legislative interpretation, and review of complex tax analyses.

    This short-term role focuses on evaluating and improving AI-generated tax research materials relating exclusively to Irish domestic tax matters. Selected professionals will assess technical conclusions, validate supporting authorities, refine grading rubrics, and revise reference answers to ensure accuracy and alignment with current Irish tax legislation and Revenue guidance.

    Key Responsibilities

    Irish Tax Research Review

    • Review Irish domestic tax research questions and model-generated answers
    • Evaluate technical analyses for accuracy, completeness, and professional quality
    • Identify incorrect interpretations, unsupported conclusions, and missing tax considerations
    • Assess whether responses apply Irish domestic tax principles appropriately to the stated facts

    Legal Authority & Guidance Validation

    • Review references to the Taxes Consolidation Act, Revenue guidance, Irish legislation, and relevant case law
    • Assess the authority, relevance, and currency of supporting tax sources
    • Verify that analyses reflect applicable legislative provisions and administrative guidance
    • Identify outdated, incomplete, or incorrectly applied authorities

    Reference Answer & Rubric Development

    • Review and improve gold-standard answers for complex Irish tax questions
    • Develop and refine grading rubrics for technical accuracy, completeness, and consistency
    • Define the essential elements required for a high-quality tax analysis
    • Rewrite answers and scoring criteria where clarification or correction is required
    • Ensure rubrics distinguish between minor omissions and material technical errors

    Legislative & Technical Accuracy Review

    • Verify that analyses reflect current Irish tax law and recent legislative developments
    • Review effective dates, transitional rules, exemptions, reliefs, and procedural requirements
    • Assess the treatment of complex domestic tax scenarios across individuals and businesses
    • Provide clear written explanations supporting recommended corrections

    Ideal Profile

    Strong candidates may have:

    • At least 5 years of professional Irish tax experience
    • Deep expertise in Irish domestic taxation
    • Experience interpreting the Taxes Consolidation Act, Revenue guidance, and relevant case law
    • Background preparing technical tax memoranda, advisory opinions, or complex research materials
    • Strong understanding of tax research methodology and the hierarchy of legal authority
    • Excellent analytical judgment, written communication, and attention to detail
    • Current residence in Ireland
    • Availability to contribute approximately 10–20 hours per week

    Educational Background

    • Chartered Tax Adviser qualification through the Irish Tax Institute is highly relevant
    • ACA, ACCA, Chartered Accountant, Solicitor, or an equivalent professional qualification may also be considered
    • A degree in taxation, accounting, finance, law, economics, or a related discipline is helpful
    • Equivalent senior-level professional experience in Irish tax advisory or technical tax research may also qualify

    Nice to Have

    • Expertise in Irish Corporation Tax
    • Experience with Income Tax and individual tax matters
    • Strong knowledge of Irish VAT
    • Familiarity with Capital Gains Tax and Capital Acquisitions Tax
    • Experience with Stamp Duty matters
    • Background in Revenue audits, tax controversy, or dispute resolution
    • Experience reviewing complex, multi-step tax analyses
    • Familiarity with structured evaluation rubrics, reference-answer development, or AI-generated tax research

    • Work will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution
