We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced insurance professionals with strong expertise across underwriting, claims, actuarial analysis, risk management, reinsurance, and regulatory compliance.
This role supports advanced AI evaluation work focused on realistic enterprise insurance workflows. Selected experts will design complex insurance scenarios, develop reference outputs, and create evaluation rubrics that reflect how experienced professionals assess underwriting risk, manage claims, analyse pricing and reserves, and make strategic insurance decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Underwriting & Risk Assessment
- Develop realistic scenarios involving commercial underwriting and complex insurance risk assessment
- Create tasks covering risk selection, coverage evaluation, pricing considerations, and underwriting decisions
- Apply professional judgement to portfolio-level and individual-risk scenarios
- Evaluate underwriting recommendations for technical accuracy, consistency, and commercial relevance
- Produce reference underwriting guidelines and risk analyses
Claims Management & Adjudication
- Design scenarios involving claims intake, investigation, adjudication, settlement, and escalation
- Develop tasks reflecting complex multi-party claims and coverage considerations
- Evaluate claims strategies for accuracy, fairness, and procedural soundness
- Identify weaknesses in coverage analysis, documentation, and claims reasoning
- Produce reference claims assessments and resolution strategies
Actuarial Pricing & Reserving
- Develop tasks involving actuarial pricing, loss forecasting, and reserve analysis
- Apply risk-modelling and loss-reserving methodologies to realistic insurance scenarios
- Evaluate assumptions, trends, exposure data, and model outputs
- Assess pricing and reserving recommendations for analytical quality and internal consistency
- Create reference analyses demonstrating expert insurance judgement
Reinsurance & Enterprise Risk
- Develop scenarios involving reinsurance structures, treaty considerations, and risk-transfer strategies
- Evaluate retention, coverage, concentration, and portfolio-risk decisions
- Apply enterprise risk management frameworks to complex insurance exposures
- Assess the impact of reinsurance arrangements on capital and risk management
- Produce executive-level risk narratives and strategic recommendations
Regulatory Compliance & Insurance Operations
- Create tasks involving insurance regulation, compliance reviews, and regulatory filings
- Apply relevant NAIC standards and enterprise insurance compliance practices where appropriate
- Evaluate operational processes across policy administration, underwriting, claims, and risk functions
- Identify control weaknesses, compliance gaps, and documentation issues
- Develop reference compliance and operational assessments
Insurance Systems & Analytics
- Develop scenarios involving Guidewire, Duck Creek, SAS, R, and comparable insurance platforms
- Apply familiarity with enterprise policy administration, claims management, and actuarial systems
- Structure insurance and risk data into clear professional outputs
- Evaluate workflows supported by enterprise insurance technology
- Assess whether analytical conclusions are appropriately supported by available data
AI Evaluation & Rubric Development
- Design expert-level evaluation tasks across insurance and risk workflows
- Draft reference outputs demonstrating authentic professional insurance judgement
- Develop rubrics that distinguish expert reasoning from generic textbook or licensing-exam responses
- Review AI-generated outputs for technical accuracy, risk awareness, and operational realism
- Identify subtle reasoning errors, unsupported assumptions, and incomplete recommendations
- Provide clear written rationale supporting evaluation decisions
Ideal Profile
- 5+ years of professional experience in insurance underwriting, claims, actuarial work, risk management, reinsurance, or a closely related field
- Experience within a major insurance carrier, reinsurer, enterprise risk organisation, or comparable insurance environment
- Direct ownership of underwriting portfolios, claims operations, actuarial pricing models, reserving processes, or insurance risk programmes
- Strong understanding of underwriting, claims management, pricing, reserving, reinsurance, and enterprise risk principles
- Familiarity with insurance platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, SAS, R, or comparable systems
- Practical understanding of regulatory compliance, reinsurance arrangements, and reserving practices
- Ability to communicate complex insurance and risk reasoning clearly and precisely in writing
- Experience developing underwriting guidance, claims documentation, actuarial training materials, evaluation rubrics, or professional review frameworks is advantageous
Engagement Details
- Part-time independent contractor engagement

- Flexible scheduling based on project requirements
- Compensation: $40–$50/hour
- Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
