Remote Part Time Mortgage Processor - NJ or NY residents only

Position: Mortgage Processor- Part Time- 20 hrs a week
Location: Fully Remote, but candidates must currently reside in New York or New Jersey
Work Model: Fully Remote, equipment provided
Compensation: $26-36 per hour
Schedule: 20 hrs per week
Benefits: No benefits for part-time. 

Overview

A mortgage company is seeking an experienced Mortgage Processor to support an experienced Loan Officer and processing team. This is a fully remote role, but candidates must currently reside in New York or New Jersey to be considered.

The client is looking for someone with strong processing, TRID/compliance, disclosure, document review, guideline research, and wholesale lender experience. This person will review initial applications for accuracy, disclose within required timelines, evaluate borrower documentation, work within the LOS, and communicate clearly with the Loan Officer, corporate underwriting, and other processors.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with an experienced Loan Officer
• Review initial applications for accuracy
• Handle TRID/compliance and disclosure timing requirements
• Ensure disclosures are completed accurately and within required timelines
• Work within loan origination systems
• Evaluate borrower documentation, including tax returns, W-2s, pay stubs, bank statements, credit reports, and appraisals
• Run and review DU, LP, and Total
• Research guidelines as needed
• Communicate with corporate underwriting and other processors
• Work with wholesale lenders
• Stay organized and manage file follow-up
• Ask questions and escalate concerns when needed

Qualifications

• Must currently reside in New York or New Jersey
• 3 years of mortgage processing experience
• TRID/compliance and disclosing experience
• Experience reviewing initial applications for accuracy
• Ability to evaluate tax returns, W-2s, pay stubs, bank statements, credit reports, and appraisals
• Experience with DU, LP, and Total
• Ability to research guidelines
• Experience working with wholesale lenders
• MeridianLink Mortgage experience preferred
• Friday Harbor experience preferred
• DataVerify experience preferred
• Income calculator experience preferred
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Willingness to ask questions when needed
• Ability to work fully remote
