Remote Leadership Role With Award Winning CompanyThis growing energy services and design-build firm specializes in delivering large-scale infrastructure modernization projects across federal, municipal, and commercial sectors. The Preconstruction Director will play a pivotal role in shaping project success and supporting continued expansion. As the company scales, the Preconstruction Director will help establish best practices and lead complex pursuits across diverse markets. This is an opportunity for the Preconstruction Director to influence both project execution and long-term growth strategy.Job DescriptionLead all phases of preconstruction from early opportunity through project handoffDevelop project budgets, schedules, and execution strategiesOversee conceptual, schematic, and GMP estimating processesBuild detailed cost models for complex MEP and infrastructure projectsPerform value engineering and optimize cost vs. performance outcomesPartner with business development on proposals, presentations, and pursuitsEvaluate project viability and deliver go/no-go recommendationsDevelop procurement strategies and manage subcontractor relationshipsLead bid processes, scope alignment, and contract negotiationsIdentify and mitigate risks related to cost, scope, schedule, and constructabilityCollaborate with engineering and operations teams for seamless project planningMentor and grow the preconstruction team and processesAct as a strategic advisor to executive leadership throughout project lifecycleMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. MPI encourages applications from minorities, women, the disabled, protected veterans and all other qualified applicants.The Successful ApplicantBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Experience in preconstruction, estimating, project management, or construction/project developmentExposure to design-build, MEP systems, infrastructure, or energy-related projects is a plusFamiliarity with federal, institutional, healthcare, higher education, or similar project environments is helpful but not requiredStrong understanding of construction processes, cost estimating, and project planning principlesAbility to review drawings, scopes, and specifications and translate them into budgets or plansComfortable collaborating with internal teams, clients, and subcontractorsSolid communication and organizational skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindsetExperience with estimating tools and Microsoft Office (or similar tools)Interest in sustainability, infrastructure modernization, or energy projects is a plusCertifications (CCM, DBIA, PMP, PE, or similar) are beneficial but not requiredWhat's On OfferBase Salary: $150,000 - $165,000Performance-based bonus potentialFull benefits packageRemote work flexibility with occasional travelOpportunity for leadership growth in a scaling organizationPlease apply to be considered for this position!
