DescriptionBLS, one of the largest and most established certified public accounting firms in Delaware, is seeking professionals with either experience or advanced technical related to financial statement (compilation, review and audits) and tax compliance for business (for profit) entities , including preparation and review of work papers, preparation of financial statements and returns needed for tax compliance.RequirementsPlanning, executing and supervising compilation, review and audit engagements for a variety of for-profit organizationsPreparing and analyzing various financial statements up through performing technical reviewPreparing complicated tax returnsMaking inquiries to various tax authoritiesDemonstrating an ability to supervise and prioritize simultaneous engagements, including appropriate delegation of dutiesReviewing changes in work performed from prior years, considering changes in client's accounting procedures and making adjustments to comply with changes in tax laws or accounting pronouncementsResolving accounting problems and tax issuesMentoring new staff on assignmentsOther qualifications include:Bachelor's degree in Accounting3-7 years public accounting experience in a tax environmentCPA certification or evidence of working towards certificationSupervisory experience and client relations skillsWorking knowledge of GAAP and small business tax complianceAbility to work independentlyWorking knowledge of ProSystems/Axcess software, Thomson Reuters Checkpoint, Microsoft Office and other programs related to tax planning, depreciation and accountingBLS is a Fourteen-Time Winner of the News Journal's Top Workplaces Award and an independent member firm of PrimeGlobal, one of the most expansive associations of independent accounting firms in the world.
