This role is responsible for the accounting and reporting of payroll, employee benefits, and contracted medical provider payments. Key responsibilities include preparing payroll journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and benefit-related accounting activities to support the monthly close process. The position maintains oversight of payroll and benefit liabilities, insurance-related expenses, and provider payment processing, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and timely. The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining compliance with GAAP and internal policies while providing reliable financial information that supports operational and business decision-making.Responsibilities:Payroll & BenefitsAccounting for bi-weekly payroll in the general ledgerPrepare and record all monthly payroll and bonus accrualsCost of Goods analysis for salary and hourly wagesReconcile payroll and benefit liabilitiesManage and account for employee medical and auxiliary benefitsTrack and enter COBRA paymentsAccounting for Workers' Compensation insurance payments and annual reconciliationAccounting for 401(k) payments and annual audit and compliance reviewClinical and Contractor PaymentsProcess Primary Care doctor payments and send out statements biweeklyProcess Urgent Care doctors and send out statements on a monthly basisProcess and send out 1099s to vendors annually for payments madeAccounting & ReconciliationReview GL reconciliations against the balance sheetCalculate and record capitalized commissions monthlyReporting & ComplianceUpdate monthly metrics for the Board of Directors ReportingUpdate and notify HR of Office of Inspector General (“OIG”) vendor status monthlyRequirements :Bachelor's Degree in Accounting7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in both public accounting and corporate environmentsStrong knowledge of GAAP and internal control best practicesProficiency with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skillsStrong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a teamFirst Stop Health is committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
