Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Senior Accounting Consultant (AI Trainer) for an innovative organization developing and training artificial intelligence technologies. This is a fully remote, flexible independent contractor opportunity offering a minimum commitment of approximately 10 hours per week, with additional project work available for professionals interested in taking on more hours.

The Senior Accounting Consultant (AI Trainer) will apply real-world accounting expertise to evaluate AI-generated work and assess the accuracy of accounting and financial reporting outputs. This professional will identify technical errors, explain appropriate accounting treatments, and provide clear, well-reasoned feedback that helps improve AI systems. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluate AI-generated accounting work for technical accuracy, consistency, and appropriate application of accounting principles.
• Identify accounting and financial reporting errors and clearly explain why a particular treatment or conclusion is correct or incorrect.
• Determine and communicate appropriate accounting treatments for a variety of realistic professional scenarios.
• Develop practical accounting tasks, questions, and scenarios based on real-world professional experience.
• Apply expertise across areas such as financial statements, month-end close, reconciliations, GAAP/IFRS, audit, tax, controls, technical accounting, and financial reporting.
• Follow detailed project guidelines while providing precise, thoughtful, and well-reasoned written feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current or recent hands-on professional experience in Accounting or a closely related field.
• Strong practical knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting processes.
• Ability to clearly explain complex accounting concepts, identify errors, and articulate appropriate accounting treatments and reasoning.
• Strong written communication, analytical reasoning, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
• Relevant professional experience may include Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, Staff Accountant, Technical Accountant, SEC/Financial Reporting professional, Auditor, Tax professional, or similar accounting roles.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This is a fully remote independent contractor opportunity with projects starting at $40/hour. Higher-paying projects may become available based on an individual's expertise, qualifications, and successful completion of additional project-specific requirements.

Professionals should be available to contribute a minimum of approximately 10 hours per week, with enough project availability for individuals interested in working additional hours. Scheduling is highly flexible and may include weekdays, evenings, nights, or weekends based on individual availability.

Candidates must successfully complete an approximately one-hour unpaid skills assessment before gaining access to project work within the platform. This assessment serves as the qualification/interview step, with results generally available within 1-3 days.
