Position Type: 6 month contract with additional opportunity contingent upon performance and continued business need
Job Location: Remote
Shift: Core hours are 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with flexibility to work an additional 1–2 hours Monday through Thursday in order to take Friday afternoons off.

OverviewThe Senior Contract Specialist will manage, analyze, and oversee the execution and administration of complex Purchase-Based Contracting (PBC) agreements supporting pharmaceutical sales and Market Access strategies.
This role will partner closely with Sales, Pricing, Market Access, Government Pricing, Finance, Legal, Audit, and Compliance to ensure contracts are accurately implemented, compliant with applicable requirements, and aligned with business objectives.
The position plays a key role in revenue protection, regulatory compliance, contract integrity, and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will have strong financial and analytical skills, an understanding of pharmaceutical contracting, and the ability to interpret complex contract language and translate requirements into effective operational processes.
ResponsibilitiesContract Management- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of Purchase-Based contracts, with a particular focus on Government and Federal contracting.
- Ensure Purchase-Based contract terms align with approved pricing strategies, rebate structures, Government Pricing requirements, and legal and regulatory standards.
- Interpret and apply contract terms related to pricing, chargebacks, rebates, fees, performance metrics, and service levels.
- Manage complex Government, Specialty Pharmacy, IRP, GPO, IDN, and Distributor agreements in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain complete and auditable documentation, including membership rosters, participant lists, Letters of Participation, contract pricing and eligibility reports, administrative fee and rebate payments, performance reporting, and analytics.
Compliance & Risk Management- Conduct risk assessments, communicate findings, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Ensure contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and contractual requirements.
- Partner with Sales, Market Access, Finance, Government Pricing, Legal, Audit, and Compliance teams to identify and mitigate financial and regulatory risks.
- Maintain accurate and current Standard Operating Procedures, Working Instructions, and other documented processes.
- Audit contract eligibility, pricing, payments, and performance metrics to ensure customer and contract data integrity across multiple systems.
- Perform customer and pricing validations.
- Provide audit support related to Purchase-Based Contracting, pricing, and customer eligibility.
Cross-Functional Collaboration- Serve as a subject matter expert on Purchase-Based contract terms, policies, and strategies.
- Collaborate with Sales, Market Access, Finance, Pricing, Government Pricing, Legal, Audit, and Compliance to support business initiatives.
- Support new product launches through contract strategy implementation.
- Provide guidance and oversight to third-party vendors supporting contract administration.
Financial Data & Analytics- Research and resolve pricing issues, disputes, chargeback discrepancies, and payment issues.
- Monitor and report on contract performance.
- Support external reporting through critical control activities and data analysis.
- Review sales and chargeback reporting to identify and resolve potential revenue leakage.
Systems & Process Improvement- Manage and oversee contract administration deliverables across multiple systems and platforms.
- Identify opportunities to improve contract workflows, internal processes, and standard agreement templates.
- Support process improvements that enhance operational efficiency, accuracy, compliance, and overall team performance.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Legal Studies, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Extensive relevant knowledge and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 3–5 years of experience in pharmaceutical contracting, specifically Government and Federal contract compliance and administration.
- In-depth knowledge of Government Pricing calculations, Class of Trade, legal and regulatory contract requirements, compliance, pricing, rebates, chargebacks, and distribution models.
- Experience interpreting complex contract language and clearly communicating contractual requirements and strategies.
- Advanced proficiency with contract management systems, document repositories, Microsoft Excel, and reporting tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications- Working knowledge of Utilization-Based Contracting, including pricing and reimbursement, PBMs, and Medicaid.
- Broad understanding of the US healthcare and pharmaceutical product contracting environment.
- Experience with Government Pricing programs and related compliance requirements.
