Role: Workday Financials Implementation SME

Duration: 6-9 Months
Location: Remote/Hybrid (25% onsite Monday-Thurs once a month at most)
Certification: Workday Certification required

Project Overview: We are seeking a high-caliber Workday Functional SME to lead a strategic re-implementation of our Workday Financials platform. This is not a maintenance role; we are looking for a visionary functional architect who can evaluate our current state, identify legacy pain points, and drive a "best practice" deployment to optimize our global financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Functional Leadership: Lead the end-to-end re-design and configuration of Workday Financial Management modules.
  • Requirements Gathering: Facilitate workshops to define business requirements and translate them into technical configurations.
  • System Design: Map complex financial business processes (BP) to Workday functionality, ensuring streamlined workflows and robust internal controls.
  • Testing & QA: Lead Unit Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including the creation of test scripts and defect resolution.
  • Data Conversion: Partner with technical teams to ensure clean financial data migration from the legacy environment to the new tenant.
  • Post-Implementation: Provide high-touch hyper-care support and knowledge transfer to the internal finance team.
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with Workday Financials.
  • Track Record: Must have completed at least 2–3 full lifecycle Workday Financial implementations (Phase 1 or Re-implementations).
  • Module Expertise: Deep functional knowledge in at least four of the following:
    • Core General Ledger / Financial Accounting
    • Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable
    • Business Assets / Asset Management
    • Expense Management
    • Procurement
    • Customer Accounts / Billing.
