Reno Runner

Sugar Bowl Resort is seeking a dependable, road-savvy, and service-minded Reno Runner to take the pressure off our departments by handling pickups away from the resort. As the name says, you'll "run to Reno," along with Truckee and North Lake Tahoe, in a company vehicle to shop for, pick up, and deliver the items our department heads request. You'll stay ready for winter roads, from clearing snow and ice and putting on chains,, keeping your department manager in the loop on your daily duties, and process the bills and paperwork that come with each errand. If you're a confident winter driver who takes pride in being the reason our teams have what they need, when they need it, we'd love to have you on board.

Sugar Bowl Resort has been proudly independent for over 80 years and is one of the oldest ski resorts in California. Situated atop beautiful Donner Summit, Sugar Bowl has a storied past with ties to Austrian ski culture, Hollywood and Walt Disney. Who You Are:

• At least 20 years of age
• A safe, responsible driver who must have a clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and a clean DMV history for the past three years
• Experienced and confident driving in inclement winter weather, with a high comfort level on snowy mountain roads
• Committed to the rules, regulations, and grooming standards of Sugar Bowl Resort as outlined in the employee handbook
• Willing to complete a background check, which is required for this position and conducted after a conditional offer of employment
• Open to learning new skills and supporting other departments as needed; a versatile, team-first mindset

What You'll Do:

• Be the resort's link to town by driving to Reno, Truckee, and North Lake Tahoe to drop off and pick up items at various locations, in a company vehicle provided for you
• Shop for and pick up the items our department heads request, so other teams can stay focused on our guests
• Deliver items to the departments that requested them
• Prepare for winter roads by clearing snow and ice from your vehicle and putting chains on it on inclement weather days, as needed
• Stay in sync by communicating your daily duties with your department manager
• Keep the paperwork moving by processing bills and related paperwork
• Cross-train and lend a hand in other departments as needed, building a broader understanding of resort operations.
• Take advantage of opportunities to learn new skills across the resort, supporting a well-rounded, team-first approach to the guest experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to sit for extended periods while driving between pickup and delivery locations
• Ability to safely load and unload items at pickup and delivery locations
• Ability to work outdoors in winter conditions, including cold, snow, and ice, when clearing the vehicle and putting on chains
