Repair Manufacturing Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Repair Manufacturing Engineer in Palmdale, California for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role supports production by developing and improving manufacturing processes used to resolve discrepancy repairs and support structural assembly work. The position works closely with cross-functional teams to drive operational performance, support first-time build activity, and improve repair and manufacturing execution.

Required Skills

• Active Secret clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years
• Program special access required to start
• 5+ years of recent CATIA V5 experience
• 5+ years of structural assembly experience
• 5+ years of discrepancy repair and/or MOD repair experience
• 5+ years of previous manufacturing engineer experience
• Experience in flight line and depot maintenance
• Experience in a manufacturing environment working cross-functionally with industrial engineering, planning, scheduling, quality assurance, and/or production planning
• Experience with manufacturing processes and procedures involving fabrication, assembly, machining, and electrical work across composites, metallics, bonded assemblies, and/or installations
• Experience with MRP, SAP, or other manufacturing execution systems
• Experience with lean manufacturing and process improvement
• Experience resolving discrepancy repairs in production
• First-time build experience

Preferred Skills

• Aviation experience
• Experience driving adoption of new technologies and processes such as automation, robotics, and computer-aided manufacturing software
• Experience providing input to product design to improve manufacturability and efficiency

What You’ll Do

• Develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling
• Resolve discrepancy repairs in production and support repair manufacturing execution
• Create and analyze 3D model-based data to optimize manufacturing processes and digital work instructions
• Define operating procedures and build sequences to improve operational performance
• Evaluate equipment and tool performance and initiate corrective actions as needed
• Use factory data to support statistical process control and continuous improvement
• Work with cross-functional teams to support production, repairs, and process improvement efforts
• Support first-time build activities and complex manufacturing problem-solving

Work Schedule / Shift

• Monday through Thursday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
• Potential for overtime
