Location: Piscataway, NJ
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (plus overtime as needed)
Pay:$21+.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform precise sewing, stitching, and hand-sewn repairs on garments and textile products.
- Conduct minor clothing repairs, including patching, hemming, zipper replacement, and reinforcement.
- Use garment care equipment such as steamers and specialized cleaning tools to refresh and clean shoes, leather accents, and fabrics.
- Assess items for repair needs and recommend appropriate action (repair, restoration, cleaning).
- Maintain high standards of quality control, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ensure workspace and equipment are properly maintained and organized.
- Communicate with team members and customers (when needed) to clarify repair needs and timelines.
- Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in sewing, stitching, garment care, or minor repair work, including familiarity with both hand-sewing and machine sewing.
- Comfortable using garment care equipment (e.g., steam machines) and hand tools for cleaning and repairs.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong English communication skills (speaking and writing).
- Reliable, punctual, and able to thrive in a workshop setting.
- Bilingual (English + another language).
- Experience in a repair center, refurbishment, tailoring, or textile environment.
- Background in leather or accessory repair.
- Experience with refurbished goods or quality restoration.
