Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Requirements Engineer with a strong focus on Technical Assurance to support a major infrastructure project: the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who excels in requirements engineering, verification and validation (V&V), and compliance for complex rail infrastructure projects. You will play a critical technical role in ensuring that system and project requirements are accurately captured, validated, traced, and maintained throughout the lifecycle of the project-from design through construction and commissioning. Your work will directly support the delivery of a safe, reliable, and regulatory compliant tunnel system.
Program background
The Gateway Program is the most urgent infrastructure program in the country - a comprehensive set of rail investments that will improve commuter and intercity services, add needed resiliency and, in its later stages, create new capacity between Newark, New Jersey and New York City, the busiest section of the Northeast Corridor (NEC). The first phase of the Gateway Program includes the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP), which includes the construction of a new two-track tunnel under the Hudson River connecting to Penn Station New York as well as the full rehabilitation of the existing 110-year-old North River Tunnel. The Gateway Development Commission (GDC), established through bi-state legislation, is responsible for the financing and development of the Hudson Tunnel Project.
Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end lifecycle of project requirements-ensuring that system, safety, and operational requirements are clearly defined, traceable, and properly verified and validated through design, construction, and commissioning. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in requirements for engineering and V&V practices within transportation or infrastructure projects.
What Youll Be Doing:
• Support the development and implementation of the Requirements Management Plan for the project in alignment with FTA , FRA , and USDOT regulatory requirements. • Work with design, systems, construction, and testing teams to ensure all contractual and regulatory requirements are properly interpreted and implemented. • Assist in developing and maintaining Requirements Verification and Traceability Matrices (RVTM/VCRM) for design packages and construction deliverables. What Required Skills Youll Bring:
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in requirements engineering , technical assurance , or systems engineering , with a strong emphasis on infrastructure or transportation projects.
