POSITION OVERVIEW
The Requirements Manager l leads a team of requirements engineers responsible for analyzing customer and internal needs and developing requirements for use by the internal engineering teams. This role develops the assigned team's communication and analytical skills to remove ambiguity from the product development process.
Location : This position requires on-site work at facilities. This role is not eligible for remote work.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead and manage the development and execution of Requirements activities for all production products.
  • Execute the vision for the Requirements team in accordance with the overall Engineering Organizational vision.
  • Ensure requirements engineering processes comply with relevant process capability standards.
  • Ensure requirements engineering processes and staffing adequately support business objectives.
  • Monitor effectiveness of work products in supporting downstream processes and adjust as needed.
  • Perform duties related to managing a team of direct reports including recruiting, training, retaining, and managing performance.
  • Coach current and potential lead engineers in the duties and behaviors required to lead a team.
  • Educate and develop requirement engineers on requirement analysis and development procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
HOW YOU'LL DO IT
  • Attention to detail ensuring information is complete and accurate; following up with others to ensure that agreements and commitments have been fulfilled.
  • Balancing stakeholders - coordinating and compromising with the leaders of the other software development groups within the Engineering Organization including Project and Program Management.
  • Establishing focus aligning personal and other resources in a manner consistent with organizational vision and objectives. Provides a clear direction and removes obstacles to get work done.
  • Knowledge Development - Continuously develop knowledge of engineering applications/tools to support business processes and culture.
  • Building teams works with staff to strengthen the team. Leading by example and going beyond the expected to ensure the success of all involved.
  • Communicating effectively developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey clear understanding, taking into account the unique needs of different audiences.
  • Maintaining a high level of confidentiality, honesty, and integrity with respect to company matters.
  • Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
WHAT TO BRING
  • 4-year degree in Systems, Electrical, Computer or Mechanical Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 7 years' experience in systems engineering or requirements engineering.
  • Leadership experience.
WHAT WILL HELP
  • Experience creating scripts.
  • Experience with any of the following:
    • requirements management tools like DOORS, Jama, Polarion, Capterra, Visure
    • project management tools like Jira, Rally, Azure Dev Ops
    • systems engineering principles (full lifecycle engineering; INCOSE guidelines)
    • embedded software development (test, architecture, C or other coding)
    • electrical hardware development (microprocessors, power management)
    • digital communication buses (CAN, LIN, ARINC 429, Ethernet, RS-485)
    • processes conforming to standards like ASPICE, DO-178C, DO-254
    • functional safety development satisfying ISO 26262 objectives
    • cybersecurity development satisfying ISO 21434 objectives
