Ongoing purchase order generation of materials and components that meet the quality standards of Standard Motor Products Inc. assumes full responsibility for planning requirements and supply chain management to ensure timely delivery of goods within budget and/or standard costs. Relying on system knowledge and judgement to accomplish goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plan, schedule, and monitor goods and services to meet the production requirements of the company. • Set-up and maintain material supplier and planning system data in the MRPERP system. • Demonstrate working knowledge of goods, services, and sources of supply to make purchases at prices consistent with quality and quantity requirements. • Determine material requirements from production schedules and coordinate the efficient movement of materials through the production cycle. • Take on special assignments as warranted, such as projects to adjust delivery schedules to meet new customer demand or supply new DCs. • Work with Receiving, Packaging, and Shipping departments to reconcile discrepancies.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION:
• Minimum 3 to 5 years planning experience. • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and informative manner through all correspondence. • Direct experience with MRPERP systems (JDEdwards preferred). • Data extrapolation and trend identification. • Proficiency in MS Office programs.
