    Company OverviewLocated in Redmond, Washington, CAD- Based Solutions was founded in 1997 to provide complete product development and engineering services to a range of clients from small start-ups to Fortune Global 500 companies. Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Research Audiologist with strong troubleshooting, problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to navigate new research areas, demonstrate the initiative to dive into new domains, self -learn and exercise great communication and teamwork skills to support a major client on-site in the Redmond, Washington area. This role is in-person working with an audio research engineering team responsible for developing novel form factor prototypes.  Day to day responsibilities would involve:
    • Characterization (measurement, selection) of acoustic transducers and their integration into research prototypes
    • Acoustic design support including modeling/simulation
    • Evaluation of noise and vibration sources
    • Develop novel test cases, evaluation criteria, and key performance indicators for new research concepts
    • Create test automation for evaluating new prototypes and user experiences
    Required Qualifications:
    • Masters Degree in Acoustics or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) 
    • Experience running audio or acoustics measurements in a lab
    • Great communication skills and ability to do independent work
    • Experience writing analysis and data processing scripts - Python and Matlab preferred
    Preferred Qualifications:  
    • Significant experience in Acoustic Engineering
    • Acoustic simulation using: Lumped Element (LE), Lumped Parameter Model (LPM, equivalent circuit), COMSOL, BEM/FEM
    • Klippel test system and measurements (linear and non-linear speaker parameters)
    • Laser vibrometer (e.g. Polytec) or NVH for analyzing vibration in structures, noise sources especially in small form factor electronic devices
    • Experience with Audio Precision, Listen Soundcheck, HEAD acoustics, National Instruments (e.g. LabView), B&K EA-Engine or similar experience with audio analyzers and equipment for measurement mics, speakers, head and torso simulators
    • Experience with audio algorithms and DSP development or evaluation and test
