JOB TITLE: Office of Research / Research Administration Intern
LOCATION: St. Paul Campus
PAY RATE: $16.50/hour
HOURS:Average of 10 hours/week with some remote work, regular meetings and occasional in-person activities as needed
JOB SUMMARY:
The University of St. Thomas is seeking two interns to support the Office of Research. This position is part of the University's NSF GRANTED-funded Research Administration Internship Program, which is designed to introduce students to the field of research administration and help develop the next generation of professionals who support research, scholarship, institutional partnerships, compliance, and sponsored projects in higher education.
Position Overview The Research Administration Intern will work with staff on projects that support proposal development, post-award management and compliance. The intern will play a key role in organizing institutional knowledge, enhancing communication with faculty, and developing resources that streamline the research process for Principal Investigators (PIs).
In addition to office-specific tasks, the intern will participate in approximately 1-2 hours per week of programmatic activities through the Research Administration Internship Program, including weekly cohort meetings, training modules, and discussions with research administration professionals.

Program Context
This position is part of a grant-funded internship program focused on research administration workforce development. Research administration includes the many professional roles that support research and scholarship at colleges and universities, including proposal development, grant administration, compliance, research ethics, contracts, policy, finance, and research communication.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should demonstrate interest in one or more of the following areas:
The successful candidate will be organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to communicate clearly in writing. Strong research and project-tracking skills are especially valuable. Experience summarizing complex information for a professional audience is a plus. Training and guidance will be provided.

ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
