Title: Research Administrative Coordinator

Facility: BayCare System Office

Schedule: Hybrid / Tuesday - Thursday in office; Monday and Friday remote

Responsibilities:

• Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) and link between clinical research operations and financial services departments to ensure research patients are scheduled, authorized, adjudicated and/or coded appropriately following applicable federal and state law.
• Responsible for researching, analyzing, interpreting, and disseminating protocol specific instructions related to billing and adjudication for sponsored and cooperative group research across BayCare.
• Maintains knowledge of coding requirements for all active research protocols, ensures First Coast notification and approval for trials with Special Determination Coverage, sets-up and facilitates trainings for Patient Financial Services (PFS) departments on specific billing guides, and supports leadership with training and onboarding new team members.
• Serves as a backup and mentor to the Research Administrative Specialists. Has extensive knowledge of Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) National Coverage Determination (NCD) with an emphasis on section 310.

Experience

• Required - 5 years research, finance, or other medical/clinical coding
• Required - a macro level comprehension of research financing

Education

• Required - Bachelor's in Business, Healthcare Management, Finance or Related Field

Shift Hours: 7:30AM - 4:00PM; 8:00AM - 4:30PM
