The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering is seeking a highly motivated Research Administrator I to join our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Director/Associate Director of Administrative Services (AD), this position plays a key role in supporting world-class research and advancing the University of Florida’s mission. As a Research Administrator, you will serve as a vital partner to faculty and research staff, providing end-to-end support in research administration and ensuring compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with room for professional growth. Final offer may be eligible for relocation assistance.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive support for proposal development, review, and submission.
  • Assist with post-award activities including budget monitoring, reporting, and payroll distribution.
  • Track effort commitments, monitor project expenses, and ensure compliance with sponsor guidelines.
  • Serve as a liaison between faculty, staff, central administration, and funding sponsors.
  • Maintain current knowledge of research compliance, policies, and procedures.
  • Contribute to process improvements and assist with special projects as assigned.

Expected Salary:

Starting at $24.42/hr; commensurate with education and experience

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships across faculty, staff, and funding agencies.
  • Basic knowledge of sponsor regulations, state policies, and university procedures.
  • Ability to analyze problems, recommend solutions, and work independently with sound judgment.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft or Workday, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with federal guidelines, including the OMB Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200).
  • Commitment to professionalism, integrity, and service excellence.
