About the Role
The Research Analyst supports the Firm's attorneys and business professionals by conducting high‑value legal, business, and industry research using a broad range of digital databases and specialized resources. In addition, Research Analysts serve as subject‑matter experts in the use of AI‑powered research tools, educating attorneys on effective and responsible adoption, validating AI‑generated outputs, and integrating these technologies into research workflows to improve accuracy, efficiency, and overall productivity.
What You Will Be Doing
- Deliver timely, high‑quality legal and business research for attorneys across all practice areas using a wide range of digital and print resources; bill research time to client matters as appropriate.
- Provide targeted research support to business professional departments, including Clients and Markets, New Business/Conflicts, Paralegal Services, and the Managing Attorney's Office.
- Monitor news, litigation activity, and legislative and regulatory developments; prepare and contribute to alerts, updates, newsletters, and internal communications.
- Maintain expert knowledge of the library's digital platforms, print collections, interlibrary loan networks, and document delivery services; demonstrate strong proficiency in search strategy, database functionality, and licensing guidelines.
- Serve as a subject‑matter expert in AI‑powered research tools, educating attorneys on effective and responsible adoption, validating outputs, and integrating AI tools into research workflows.
- Provide coverage for email monitoring and adhere to internal workflows, service standards, and request‑handling procedures.
- Partner with the Research & Reference Services Manager to maintain and enhance intranet research pages, including link maintenance, content updates, and integration of subject‑matter resources into the Firm's portal.
- Participate in the evaluation of research tools, including pilots, product comparisons, feedback collection, and preparation of recommendation summaries.
- Serve as a subject‑matter resource for assigned practice groups, business professional teams, or topical areas based on departmental and Firm needs.
- Collaborate with the Director and Research & Reference Services Manager on departmental initiatives, process improvements, and special projects.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to professionalism, delivering high-quality service, and maintaining a positive, solution-oriented ("can-do") approach. Effectively supports internal departments, external clients, and vendors through clear, courteous communication via electronic correspondence, telephone, and in-person interactions.
