Job Summary

The Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment seeks a Research Analyst Principal. The analyst will work in the Department of Animal and Food Sciences and will assist with food science research. Beginning in early 2027, the department will be moving to the new Agricultural Research Building, equipped with new cutting-edge laboratory space. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required to be successful in this position. About the Role

In this dynamic, hands-on role, duties include but are not limited to: Prepare and analyze food samples. Analyze and report results. Prepare manuscripts and assist in preparation of grant proposals based on research data. Develop, validate and improve laboratory methods using proper technique. Supervise the workflow of samples for laboratory analyses, cleaning and maintenance duties, and data calculations and reports. Maintain chemical and laboratory consumables. Manage chemical and hazardous waste and safety documentation. Training of graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and visiting scholars. Assist in teaching lab sessions.
