Are you ready to build a career in innovation? The QUIKRETE Companies is looking for a passionate individual to join our team at our state-of-the-art Technology & Innovation Center in Johns Creek, Georgia.

We're hiring for the role of Research and Development (R&D) Technician to support our cutting-edge research and product development efforts. Whether you’re just starting out or already have lab experience, this is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of the construction industry.

At QUIKRETE®, we’re leaders in bagged concretes, mortars, and grouts—and we’re making big moves in the CASE market with waterproof membranes, moisture barriers, sealants, and specialty coatings. This role will primarily support our QUIKRETE® and Custom® Building Products product lines.

What You’ll Do

As a key member of our technical team, you’ll work hands-on with new materials and product formulations to help us innovate faster and smarter.

  • Prepare and mix samples according to detailed formulations
  • Perform tests to evaluate chemical and physical properties of construction materials
  • Analyze new raw materials and assess their compatibility with existing products
  • Keep detailed lab notebooks and digital records of results
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused lab environment (we follow 5S principles)
  • Communicate results clearly with team members and technical leaders

What We’re Looking For

Advanced degrees are not required to make an impact, just a solid foundation, a curious mind, and a drive to learn.

  • Education: Vocational, 2-year, or 4-year degree in science, engineering, or related fields. Equivalent hands-on experience is also welcomed.
  • Experience: 0–3 years in lab environments or field applications related to cement, concrete, paints, coatings, or other construction materials.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, solid math skills (algebra, unit conversions), analytical thinking, and clear communication.
  • Attitude: Motivated, reliable, and eager to grow within a team-driven, innovative-focused setting.
  • Physical: This position requires continuous standing, walking, turning, and upper body movement, with frequent use of hands and arms for reaching, grasping, and fine manipulation.
  • There is also intermittent sitting, squatting, crouching/stooping and bending.
  • The ability to carry up to 25 lbs, lift/lower up to 50 lbs, and push/pull up to 100 lbs with equipment assistance, is required for this position.

What You’ll Gain

  • Professional Growth: We offer in-depth training, technical certifications, and clear career development paths.
  • Supportive Culture: Work with experienced mentors in a friendly, collaborative setting.
  • Flexibility & Independence: Manage your workflow with autonomy, backed by a strong support system.
