Job Description

The Department of Epidemiology is seeking a Research Assistant (RA) to support the day-to-day operations of NIH funded projects. Primary responsibilities include managing a new study examining the links between reward processing, anxiety and depression symptoms, and treatment improvement.

 

The Research Assistant will:

 

  • Recruit, enroll, and retain adult participants with internalizing disorders seeking treatment at the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders.
  • This will involve contacting individuals who express interest in the study, screening participants for study eligibility to assess history and current psychopathology, tracking participants over 12-month follow-up, and scheduling and coordinating assessment visits.
  • Administer and track standardized clinical assessments at baseline and follow-up visits.

 

This will include:

 

  • Sending participants links (and reminders) to complete self-report measures on REDCap, assisting participants as needed with in-person survey completion at the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorder, or assistance via telephone-based completion.
  • Manage study datasets and conduct basic statistical analysis for study reports. 

 

This will involve:

 

  • Managing study databases, complete data-entry tasks, training undergraduate volunteers to complete data entry tasks, and present data to study team members during regular meetings.
  • Attend study meetings, order study supplies, track study payments, maintain organized files for all study-related materials, and correspond regularly with study team members. 
  • Maintain and update IRB and study protocols as well as the study website.

Required Skills

 

  • A bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of experience is required.
  • A background in psychology, neuroscience, public health, epidemiology, or related field is preferred Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be committed to providing the highest level of service and responsiveness. 
  • Demonstrated experience working in a high-volume, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
