TITLE                                                    Research Assistant

DEPARTMENT                                   Operations and Information Management Division.   

REPORTS TO                                     Professor Kosiba

PAY RATE                                           $18/hr

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Department of Operations Information Management (OIM) seeks a Student Research Assistant to support the development of OIM 3503 course, Operations for Entrepreneurs; how to scale a unicorn. The Student Research Assistant will work closely with the instructor to assist in developing assets for the course curriculum and develop class structure based on previous taught Babson coursework

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Based on course outline, research multiple cases and articles via Harvard education portal and other sources to find a pool of relevant assets for the professor to review
  • Suggest modifications and improvements to materials and course content based on Babson courses. i.e. “How much have does the target student know about cash flow modeling”?
  • Explore and evaluate new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence including Babson Generator
  • Assist in evaluating courseload rigor – too much or too little rigor
  • Assist Professor via the Babson Operations Club and other groups about understand what students are hungry to learn.
  • Assist Professor in applying for class approval via Babson leadership for a Spring 27 launch
  • Assist in building PowerPoint decks for the class.
  • Help Market the class once approved.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED

  • Candidate will have successfully completed OIM 2001 Technology Operations Management with a grade of A
  • Have a solid understanding of Business Operations
  • Have well-developed communication, interpersonal, and organizational skill
  • Ability to work independently.

HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK

This role will be remote throughout the summer and if it continues into the Fall will meet in my Babson Hall office as your schedule permits.
