The Research Assistant at Dr. Aize Cao's lab, funded by an HRSA maternal health grant. The successful candidate will be involved in key aspects of data collection and analysis to support ongoing research projects aimed at improving maternal health and substance use disorders.
Essential Functions (Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities):
Assist in the data collection through clinical chart reviews, surveys, MRI imaging, and other approaches. Assist in patient or subject recruitment if needed.
Input, organize, and manage data using various software tools and databases.
Conduct preliminary data analysis and scientific report.
Participate in the development and implementation of data collection protocols to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Provide administrative support for research projects, including scheduling, coordinating meetings, and maintaining project documentation.
Preparing presentations and creating visual data representations for internal and external stakeholders, writing manuscripts.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Proven experience in data collection and analysis, preferably in a healthcare or research setting.
Strong understanding of data privacy standards and practices, particularly HIPAA.
Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., Python, R, SQL) and database management.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus
Must be in town and have personal transportation.
