Job Summary
We are seeking a
Research Associate II with hands-on experience conducting
small animal in vivo studies. This position will support animal monitoring, dosing, sampling, necropsy, organ collection, sample processing, and other study-related activities, including work involving infectious and/or biohazardous materials.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, adaptable, and committed to maintaining safe, ethical, and compliant laboratory practices.
Key Responsibilities- Perform small animal in vivo procedures, including:
- Animal monitoring and handling
- Dosing and sampling
- Necropsy and dissection
- Organ collection and processing
- Administer compounds using common dosing routes, including intraperitoneal (i.p.), subcutaneous (s.c.), and oral (p.o.) routes.
- Maintain accurate study records, documentation, and experimental data.
- Communicate study progress, observations, and results effectively with team members.
- Support day-to-day laboratory operations, including:
- Ordering and stocking laboratory supplies
- Inventory management
- Maintaining laboratory cleanliness
- Autoclaving materials
- Proper disposal of biohazardous and chemical waste
- Provide weekend and occasional weekday off-hours coverage as required.
Required Qualifications- BS or MS in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or a related scientific field.
- 1+ year of hands-on small animal in vivo research experience, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong experience with:
- Small animal handling
- Animal dosing
- Sample collection
- Necropsy
- Organ collection
- Dissection
- Excellent communication, organizational, teamwork, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative research environment.
Preferred Qualifications- Ability to independently design and conduct in vivo studies.
- Experience with ELISA, flow cytometry, or molecular biology techniques.
- Experience working with infectious and/or biohazardous materials.
- Familiarity with computational analysis of bulk RNA-seq or single-cell RNA-seq (scRNA-seq) data.
- Experience in a regulated pharmaceutical or biotechnology research environment.
Must-Have SkillsTechnical Skills- Hands-on experience with small animal in vivo studies.
- Proficiency with common animal administration routes, including i.p., s.c., and p.o. dosing.
- Experience with animal monitoring, sampling, necropsy, organ collection, and dissection.
- Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret experimental data.
- Strong laboratory documentation and record-keeping skills.
