Summary

The Research Associate (RA) supports the ongoing needs of clinical research trials, research databases and other research projects in support of the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation (MHIF) mission. This position will be responsible for collecting and entering patient data into study data systems. The RA may also assist with general administrative support.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Support activities for research studies within assigned therapeutic area, which may include:

a. Identify, collect, interpret, and register clinical trial data from medical records and other source documents.

b. Enter study required data into electronic or paper Case Report Forms (CRFs), registries, and local data systems (e.g., EDC, Florence, RealTime, EPIC).

c. With supervision, make patient contacts to collect study required data and/or consent patients for participation in registry or other minimal risk clinical studies.

d. Complete study specific imaging transfers for multiple studies

e. Maintain study documentation under the oversight of the research coordinator.

  1. Work collaboratively with all MHIF employees as part of a positive, supportive culture

Secondary Responsibilities

  1. May contribute to dissemination of research by drafting text and/or charts for abstracts, manuscripts and poster/Power Point presentations.

  2. May provide support for regulatory activities using approved templates for vetted proposals

  3. Participate in continuing learning opportunities, such as observations, didactics and expert care, and shadowing.

  4. Contribute to Research and/or MHIF organizational quality improvement initiatives as delegated by MHIF leadership.

  5. May provide support for research studies outside of assigned therapeutic area

  6. Complete other administrative and study-related tasks, as assigned.

Relationships

This position reports to the Research Manager in the assigned therapeutic area. The Research Associate is supervised by a Clinical Research Coordinator when making patient contact.
