Position Summary

The AlQuraishi Lab in the Department of Systems Biology is seeking a full-time, temporary Research Associate to support computational biology research under the direction of Dr. Mohammed AlQuraishi. This role involves assisting in developing, training, and analyzing genome language models for annotating genomes and predicting inter-genic interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with developing and training genome language models for genome annotation and predicting gene interactions.
  • Analyze genomic and biological data using computational and bioinformatics tools.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of data analysis pipelines and research software.
  • Evaluate research results and prepare reports, figures, and summaries of findings.
  • Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and other lab members on computational biology projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of research activities, analyses, and results.
  • Assist with preparing scientific presentations, publications, and other research materials.
  • Participate in laboratory meetings and contribute to ongoing research initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
