Job Description:
The Research Associate is a specialized scientific staff member within the Proteomics Core Facility who independently manages assigned research projects from design/project intake through project closeout while supporting mass spectrometry -based proteomics and small molecule/metabolite analyses for a diverse research community. The Research Associate independently performs and coordinates sample preparation, LC-MS/MS acquisition, quality control, evaluates data, manages project status and intake documentation in iLabs, conducts client consultations including project closeouts/follow-up meetings, and provides technical oversight and training to undergraduate researchers. This cross-disciplinary role is essential to maintaining and expanding the Core's analytical services which requires advanced knowledge of protein biochemistry, analytical chemistry, chromatography, high resolution mass spectrometry, data interpretation, and research project management.
This is a fixed term position with a current end date of one year from the date of hire, which may be extended based upon available funding.
