Job Summary

Perform routine research tasks, including library research; participate in group observation activities; administer questionnaires and conduct interviews; take part in experiments; collect, analyze, code, and tabulate data; set up and operate laboratory programming operations.

Responsibilities*

35% Clinical Data Collection & Equipment Operation: Lead in-person data collection for gait, balance, and sensorimotor testing. Operate and troubleshoot specialized lab equipment, including sensors during walking and non-invasive brain stimulation systems.

25% Data Management & Analysis: Perform preliminary data cleaning and analysis using MATLAB and Excel. Build and maintain REDCap databases, ensuring accurate entry and high data integrity for all research variables.

20% Study Coordination & Administration: Manage participant recruitment, screening, and scheduling. Handle participant incentive payments and maintain detailed lab notebooks and regulatory documentation.

10% Team Leadership & Communication: Assist with the management and training of undergraduate research assistants. Attend and contribute to weekly lab meetings to discuss study progress and troubleshoot protocols.

10% Dissemination of Research: Assist with the preparation of research manuscripts, literature reviews, and scientific presentations for conferences.

Required Qualifications*

Education: Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, or a related health science field.

Experience: 1-2 years of clinical or academic research experience involving human subjects and data management (e.g., REDCap, Excel).

Skills: Strong organizational and interpersonal skills for coordinating clinical populations and managing lab documentation.

Desired Qualifications*

Technical Expertise: Experience with gait analysis equipment and data processing in MATLAB.

Knowledge: Foundational understanding of brain physiology, neuroscience, and sensorimotor function.

Clinical/Leadership: Experience working with older adults and providing oversight to undergraduate research assistants.
