Here’s a Glimpse of the Job

Texas A&M University's Biology Department is seeking a Research Coordinator to provide technical support for research activities under general supervision. This position performs a variety of semi-skilled research tasks, including conducting experiments, collecting and recording data, maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies, and assisting with the day-to-day operations of research projects. The Research Coordinator applies established research procedures while adapting and modifying routine methods as needed to support project objectives. Success in this role is measured by the effective completion of assigned tasks, adherence to laboratory standards, and contribution to the overall research goals of the department.

Opportunities to Contribute

  • Assists with laboratory and field research activities, including data collection, testing, and documentation of results.

  • Conducts and coordinates research sessions while supporting experimental procedures and research protocols.

  • Recruits, screens, schedules, and maintains records for research participants and administers participant compensation.

  • Maintains laboratory supplies, equipment, and research space to support ongoing studies and operations.

  • Supports laboratory operations by operating technical equipment, assisting with animal care, ensuring quality control, and promoting compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Three years of related experience.

  • Ability to lift and/or move medium weight objects.

A well-qualified candidate for this position will also possess:

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's education and experience.
