Position Summary

The Lab Manager serves as the operational backbone of the Cognitive Neuropsychology Lab, overseeing participant recruitment, study administration, data management, and grant operations for active aging and memory research studies. This is a fast-paced, detail-oriented role requiring strong organizational skills, clinical sensitivity, and the ability to manage multiple projects and personnel simultaneously.

This is a full-time, grant funded position. Funding is guaranteed through November 2026, with likely extension through the following year.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor''s degree
  • 3 years of related work experience in research or a clinical setting working with human adult participants.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to interact compassionately with older adult participants
  • Experience supervising students and/or staff

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Degree in psychology, neuropsychology or related field
  • Experience in a clinical neuropsychology setting or neuropsychology/aging research lab
  • Familiarity with REDCap, Qualtrics, and Microsoft OneDrive/SharePoint
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to interact compassionately with older adult participants
  • Experience budgets and/or university purchasing systems a plus

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.

Essential Functions of Position

Recruitment & Outreach

Monitor lab email and voicemail; respond to inquiries within 48 hours and maintain the recruitment spreadsheet

Screen potential participants for eligibility, schedule study visits, and coordinate community outreach events

Check the Qualtrics recruitment survey weekly and distribute the lab newsletter twice per year

Study Administration

Serve as primary administrator for study visits, including cognitive testing, VKC administration, and participant compensation

Prepare testing materials, coordinate reminder calls, arrange transportation, and manage REDCap survey queues for participants and informants

Schedule 3-4 visits per week while balancing staff availability across graduate and undergraduate RAs

Data Management

Conduct post-visit quality checks to ensure all REDCap forms are complete, scored, and locked

Upload and label all study files (videos, audio, scanned packets, Examiner and .csv output files) to the correct OneDrive and SharePoint folders

Track informant questionnaire completion and follow up to prevent data loss

Neuropsychological Norming & Reporting

Enter raw test scores into CNNS norming software and generate individualized neuropsychological research reports

Submit finalized reports to the PI at least one business day before feedback sessions; send reports to participants and support feedback calls

Supervision of all Lab Staff

Onboard undergraduate and graduate RAs; coordinate CITI training and system access

Send weekly role assignment emails and monitor all staff training progress throughout the semester

Perform individual development plans for all undergraduate staff

Oversee lab work of graduate research assistants

Grant Management

Purchase supplies and participant incentives using TU Marketplace, Amazon Business, and p-card with correct FOAPAL codes

Maintain budget tracking spreadsheets and process consultant invoices through Concur

Independently manage laboratory budget
