What to Expect
This is a dynamic, fast-paced role that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and adaptability.
A significant focus will be on coordinating and completing patient follow-up visits for patients with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), administering detailed research questionnaires, and ensuring accurate data collection and entry for trauma research studies.
Our research team provides continuous support for trauma research initiatives at the Charlotte campus, contributing to research excellence and improved patient outcomes.

Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Pay Range:
$21.85 - $32.80
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Independently abstracts and interprets pertinent data from medical records with an average level of accuracy and efficiency.
Maintains extensive knowledge of study protocol, diseases, medical terminology and pharmaceutical drugs to make informed decisions regarding patient hospitalizations.
Reads, understands and abstracts information from diagnostic reports and procedures.
Participates in quality control reviews.
Resolves problems related to data queries sent by the coordinating center. 6. Attends training for annual re-certification programs, attends conferences for continuing education, attends and represents the WFUHS site at abstractor training and conference calls.
Communicates effectively and timely with the coordinating center.
Performs other duties as needed.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Detail-oriented and self-motivated Works independently abstracting records with high level of accuracy and above average efficiency rate of expected quota Shows satisfactory performance of additional independent study related duties Works well in a team environment
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Clean, comfortable, office environment
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree and one year experience; or, an equivalent education and experience. Coursework in anatomy & physiology and medical terminology preferred. LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: N/A
