Your Role
Akkodis is seeking a Research & Development Engineer for a Contract with a client in Des Plaines, IL. The ideal candidate must have experience with vacuum systems and gas management while conducting research, analyzing results, and communicating findings to stakeholders.
Rate Range: $40/Hour to $45/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Research & Development Engineer Job Responsibilities include:
Conduct research and development activities, applying scientific principles to design and execute experiments.
Analyze experimental data and summarize findings into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
Work with vacuum systems and gas management technologies to support technical research initiatives.
Lead and guide team members on complex projects, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes.
Document research processes, methodologies, and results for internal and external communication.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support innovation and achieve organizational goals.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field (bachelor's with relevant experience considered).
3-5 years of experience in research and development or a related technical field.
Hands-on experience with vacuum systems and gas management technologies in experimental or lab environments.
Strong ability to design experiments, analyze complex data, and effectively communicate technical findings to internal and external stakeholders.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour
