Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We are seeking a talented Senior Packaging Engineer to join our dynamic Pet R&D Packaging Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work remotely with occasional travel to our state-of-the-art JFB Technical Center in Golden Valley, MN. Job Summary
In this full-time, 9-12 month contract role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D Platforms, Sourcing, Quality, Engineering, Marketing, and Operations. Your mission will be to drive innovation, cost savings, and core support for our pet food brands. You'll be at the forefront of key development projects, ensuring high quality standards for our products and materials.
Key Accountabilities
- Build strong relationships with key business and platform partners to support trials, new product launches, and initiatives.
- Lead collaboration with cross-functional partners for margin improvement and technical innovation opportunities.
- Conduct and manage supplier experiments, trials, and analyses to advance technical packaging opportunities.
- Develop internal and external networks to influence and gain support for initiatives.
- Partner effectively with supplier resources to achieve key initiatives.
- Communicate and document work, including technical plans, specifications, experimental reports, financial analysis, and updates.
- Leverage technical material knowledge to drive innovation and margin improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging or related field.
- 5 years of Package Engineering experience.
- Solid understanding of product commercialization from design to manufacturing.
- Expertise in process engineering solutions for consumer packaged goods.
- Experience creating technical packaging drawings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, Office 365, SharePoint, TOPS.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Travel up to 10%.
Preferences
- 7 years of Packaging development experience.
- Experience in the manufacturing or food industry.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management systems like Interspec.
- Experience in pet food manufacturing.
