What we do:
GroupeSTAHL is a leading international manufacturer, distributor and direct supplier in the field of custom textile printing.

What you'll be doing:

The Research and Development Specialist supports the development, creation, testing, and implementation of new products, services, and process improvements.  This role bridges creative, technical, sales, marketing, finance and operational teams to prototype, evaluate, and refine ideas and to coordinate development projects from initial concept through execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for completing concept development projects as defined by the Groupe Technical Product Manager
  • Conduct hands-on testing, gather and analyze results, prepare and organize results documentation, graphs, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, IT, Production, and other departments to translate concepts into market-ready solutions.
  • Participate in training by creating procedures, training materials and training others.
  • Operate and understand production equipment when needed for R&D purposes, including heat presses, laser cutters, screen printing presses and digital printers.
  • Support prototype production, testing protocols, and training related to new products or processes.
  • Research market and global trends, materials, and emerging technologies to support ongoing innovation.
  • Manage documentation, procedures, and version control for future reference.
  • Participate in purchasing and assist with financial reporting for project materials and prototypes.
  • Use Microsoft Excel and related tools for organization, data analysis, and budget tracking.
  • Develop professional presentations and documentation for management and cross-departmental communication.
  • Procure safety data documents and component information for items proposed for development and final products or processes
  • Coordinate and communicate with entities outside of Stahls' including vendors and customers, when necessary.
  • Ability to work well with internal and external teams including IT, R&D, designers, customer service, finance, sales, quality assurance and operations.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors and consultants need to manufacture and produce the product.
  • Understand research and follow technical trends in the industry.
  • Oversee key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis.
  • Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring projects such as preparation of records of expenses, progress reports.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • R&D Experience preferred
  • Business, Computer Science, Business, or Engineering preferred
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of production and testing equipment for heat transfer, printing, and finishing preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, and related reporting and organizational tools.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, adapt to changing priorities, and learn new technologies quickly.
