Research Engineer (X-Ray Optics Laboratory)

We are seeking a Research Engineer candidate to serve as a member of a KBR team working on the Space and Earth Science Data Analysis (SESDA-V) program in the Next Generations X-Ray Optics (NGXO) group, working full-time from NASA/GSFC in Greenbelt, MD, with the potential flexibility for hybrid work, at the discretion of the NASA customer.
The Research Engineer supports NASA's NGXO team by designing, prototyping, testing, and refining precision opto-mechanical systems. The role involves CAD modeling, applying GD&T, supporting manufacturing processes, and using metrology tools for validation, while collaborating with engineers and scientists in a multidisciplinary, research-driven environment.
The ideal candidate for this position would be a self-starter, self-motivator and an original thinker that has the capabilities to work directly with team members, other engineers and supporting scientists to design prototyping testing, and re-designing structures for the NGXO group, as part of the research project. The Research Engineer will perform other duties and assignments as required.

Basic Compensation:
$94,000.00 - $172,200.00
The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate's working location, knowledge, skills, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
