    Department

    Center for Advanced Power Systems (CAPS)

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Research and development of MV power converter for transportation and grid applications.
    • Develop novel designs of gate drivers for WBG modules.
    • Conduct collaborative research with CAPS Faculty and other researchers at FSU and other universities.
    • Develop an independent research program engaging post-doctoral researchers and graduate students in the power electronics area.
    • Develop compelling proposals for competitive external grants and contracts from federal agencies and industry sponsors.
    • Publish research results in reputed journals and internal conferences.

    Qualifications

    An academic doctorate or the highest-level degree in electrical engineering with a specialization in power electronics, or a related field from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of achievement in research.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • At least one year of experience in power electronics or a related field.
    • Strong publication record in power electronics or related fields.
    • Rich experience with high voltage and high power hardware development.
    • Demonstrated record of collaboration, publications, and conference presentations.
